Handpiece Turbines

Replacement dental turbines for popular high-speed handpieces, including Star 430, Midwest Tradition and Quiet Air, KaVo, NSK, Lares and Vector. A new turbine brings a tired handpiece back without sending it out for repair.

Match the turbine to the handpiece

Turbines are model-specific: the head, the chuck (push button or wrench) and the bearings all have to match. Each listing names the handpiece models the turbine fits, or pick your handpiece in the finder below. Not sure what you have? Send the Tech Desk a photo of the head and the markings on the handpiece.

Make the new turbine last

Most turbine trouble starts in the bearings (Practice Tip #70). Lubricate after every use and before sterilization, unless the turbine is sold as lube-free, and replace worn coupler O-rings about every six months (Practice Tip #36). Practice Tip #42 shows how to install three different kinds of turbines.
