- Then using specialized turbine wrench to unscrew end cap and remove worn turbine out the front of handpiece.
- Inspect head for foreign debris and remove if present. Use a hand scaling instrument to remove any old turbine parts, including any shims, o-rings, washers, or bearing retainers.
- Once all debris and parts have been removed, use a cotton swab and handpiece lubricant to clean handpiece head. Using air from an air/water syringe, blow out handpiece to remove any cotton fibers.
- Turbine includes o-rings, which replace the existing turbine o-rings. One o-ring fits onto the lip on the front bearing of the rubine and rests against a lip inside the head. Second o-ring will fit into the groove in the end cap.
- Holding handpiece face down, insert new turbine fully into the head. Use appropriate tool to screw end cap down until flush against handpiece.
- Before opperating handpiece, install bur securely into turbine. If there is any resistance, then you need to remove the rubine and reinstall again.
- Lastly, install handpiece onto tubing connector and operate foot control to make sure it runs smoothly.
