Debris Baskets

Disposable debris baskets for vacuum collection canisters, by canister type. Type A, B and C are different shapes — the basket has to match the canister, not the brand of the unit.

Which basket fits which canister

Type A or C canisters take the covered basket (#18-94). Type B takes either the plain green (#18-91) or the covered (#18-95). A-dec style canisters use #18-96 or the yellow #18-92; DCI uses #18-97 and Pelton & Crane #18-98. If the canister is not marked, Practice Tip #121 walks through identifying it by shape. All of these come 25 to a pack, and #18-92 also comes in a 10-pack for smaller practices.

Why a covered basket is worth the difference

The cover is what stops the trap emptying itself back into the canister when the basket is lifted out — which is the moment the person changing it is most exposed. Covered baskets cost a little more per unit and remove a splash risk that no amount of protocol removes. Change them daily in a busy operatory; a basket left to fill is how debris reaches the pump.
