Pulpdent Tuff-Temp Plus Cartridge Kit

Tuff-Temp ™ Plus cartridge kit by Pulpdent ® has an advanced rubberized-urethane chemisty that provides greater strength and dimensional stability for tighter fitting provisional restorations than acrylics and bis-acrylics. Minimize or eliminate breakage and debondings during crown and bridge procedures.

Product Features:

• Composite material grinds and powders, producing crisp and accurate margins without softening or distorting.
• When trimming with a slow-speed acrylic bur, fine grit diamond bur, or finishing/polishing disc bur it will provide greater results.
• Self-cures or light-cured. Fast light curing suited for use with a clear vinyl polysiloxane template.
• Tuff-Temp ™ Plus has high flexural strength without brittleness and is approximately 50% to 100% tougher than bis-acrylics.
• Tuff-Temp ™ Plus’s rubberized-urethane chemistry has a higher Tg and not affected by the heat of grinding and finishing, resulting in perfect margins and a better fit.

What is Tg and Why is it Important?

The glass transition temperature (Tg) is the temperature at which a polymer goes from a hard glass-like state to a rubber-like state. Bis-acrylics have a lower Tg than rubberized-urethane. Heat produced by grinding and finishing instruments softens bis-acrylic, distorting the margins and gums up finishing instruments.

Because a synthetic rubber molecule has been inserted into the diurethane dimethacrylate, a tougher, more impact resistant material has an increased dimensional stability. The provisional restoration fits tightly, stays on better and is more fracture resistant.
