ContacEZ PrepSure instruments feature double-ends with mesial and distal ends for crown prep. Assists in achieving ideal abutments with proper occlusal, buccal, lingual, and marginal clearances. Also while reducing dental structure with burs and discs.
Pkg. of 3. Assorted has one of each size (1mm- yellow, 1.5mm- red, & 2mm- blue).
Suggested Use For Each Size Are As Follows:
- 1.0 mm: For solid zirconia crowns, gold, as well as other 'monolithic' materials
- 1.5 mm: For PFMs, zirconia, and other bilayered crown materials
- 2.0mm: For porcelain - ceramic and CAD/CAM crowns, as well as onlays
Steam autoclave up to 270° F. DO NOT use dry heat!
How To Most Effectively Use Your ContacEZ PrepSure Instruments:
1. While performing reduction of the tooth structure, make depth-orientation grooves in the occlusial, buccal, and lingual surfaces to the reduction amount indicated for the desired crown material. Place the appropriate PrepSure tip into these grooves lengthwise to confirm the appropriate depth before continuing reduction. This will ensure adequate clearance on occlusal, buccal, and lingual surfaces of the prepared tooth.
2. Once reduction completes, place the PrepSure tip marked with an M on the mesial half of the occlusial surface of the prepared tooth. Gently glide the M Tip along the mesial cuspal waves of the prepared tooth and repeat on the distal side using the D Tip. If forcing, the tip snaps due to insufficient depth and needs further reducing.
3. Once both tips of the crown instrument passes though the prepared space without getting stuck or requiring excess pressure, the minimum required occlusal clearance for the restoration has been achieved.
4. Lastly, when appropriate for the crown material being used, place the 1.0mm PrepSure tip against the prepared gingival chamfer or shoulder margin to confirm that adequate depth has been made for the final restoration.
