Tuesday's quick tip is for those using a Cavitron or other similar ultrasonic scalers to remove debris and biofilm with the help of vibration. These small dental units can be a valuable addition to your dental practice, but there are a few things that might occur with daily use, such as clogging.
If cleaning doesn't work, you will likely need to replace the solenoid valve. Fortunately, we stock solenoid valves (#05-82 or #05-83) for a couple models of Cavitron units. Of course, you can reduce the incidence of clogging by routinely using a water line cleaner in your unit and by regularly changing the filter on your unit's water line.
