Pro-Form dual-laminate (E-Gasket) material for splints and TMJ applications. Two ply material features a soft layer and a more rigid layer. The soft first layer designed for comfort and energy absorption. The firmer second layer designed to resist abrasion from tooth grinding. Acrylics will bond to the hard surface to allow a dental technician to modify the occlusal surface.
Product Details:
Clear 5" X 5" sheets.
Latex-free
Common applications: splints and TMJ applications.
Put soft side of the mouthguard material towards the heater and move frame unit directly beneath the heater. Heat on a Pro-Form machine with a 600 watt heating element 1:15 to 1:30 minutes. If you burn the soft layer (turns a little browish-green), then lower the time factor by 4 second increments. NOTE: the hard side will burn easier than the softer side, due to the 100° higher thermal index point.
After you heat the soft side, flip the material over ASAP and heat the hard side for 10-15 seconds. Turn on the vacuum, lower the frame, and either use the pressure dome to assist in forming or use a wet paper towel to form around the occlusion plane, lingual, and buccal surface.
